本日、FinhがEO通常ミッションを踏破しました。
しかし、Finhは前シーズンにおいてEOのスペシャルミッションを達成しているプレイヤーです。
本来であれば、その条件により今シーズンの通常ミッション踏破は認められないはずでした。
ルールを見直したところ、当該規定に不備があることを確認しました。
このルールはもともとシーズン1で適用されていたものであり、当時は問題ありませんでしたが、
シーズンをまたぐ際の継続性を想定していなかったため、運営側の不備となってしまいました。
この点についてお詫び申し上げます。
Rule 4｜踏破における公平性の維持
同一DD内でNMとSPM／CMは別枠とし、いずれかを踏破した者は、当該シーズン中に他枠のミッションへ参加できない。
- SPMを一度でも踏破した者は、そのDDのNMに参加不可。
- NMを踏破した者は、そのDDのSPMに参加不可。
これらの制限は他DDでの挑戦・踏破には影響しない。
今回の件はルール英訳の不備に起因するため、Finhの踏破は有効といたします。
ただし、EO通常ミッションに挑戦中の皆さまにとって不公平と映る可能性がありますので、
今シーズンに限りEO通常ミッションの踏破者は「Finhを含め最大2名まで」といたします。
運営の意図について
ここで「通常／スペシャル／チャンピオンミッション」の棲み分けについて、改めてお伝えします。
- 通常ミッション
「DDソロに慣れてきた層」を想定した登竜門的な位置づけです。参加の敷居を下げ、より幅広いプレイヤーに挑戦していただく意図があります。 - スペシャル／チャンピオンミッション
通常ミッションを「少し難しい程度」と感じる層に向けた高難度挑戦枠です。
私たちは「一度でもSP／CMを踏破した者は、そのDDにおけるNM参加資格を永久に失う」という意図でルールを設定しました。
これは、毎シーズンNMから順に突破されてしまうことを避けるためであり、挑戦の敷居を守るためのものです。
また、チャンピオンミッションは「同一人物による連覇を防ぐ」ために設けられた調整枠です。
連覇を否定するものではなく、むしろ連覇を成し遂げた場合はそれだけ価値ある偉業であると考えています。
運営としても、ギリギリの調整を行いながら、その壁を越えていただけることを期待しています。
本題：ルール改訂
以上を踏まえ、Rule 4を以下の通り改訂し、本日より適用いたします。
Rule 4｜踏破における公平性の維持（改訂後）
同一DD内でNMとSPM／CMは別枠とする。
いずれかのDDにおいて一度でもSPMを踏破した者は、そのシーズン以降も当該DDにおけるNM参加資格を失う。
いずれかのDDにおいて過去にSPMを踏破している者が、そのシーズン中に異なるDDのNMを踏破した場合、当該シーズン中は踏破したDDのSPMに参加できない。

For English Runners
Today, Finh has successfully completed the EO Normal mission.
However, Finh is also a previous achiever of the EO Special Mission from the last season.
Under normal circumstances, this would mean that their Normal clear this season should not be eligible.
Upon reviewing the rules, we discovered that there was a flaw in the original wording.
This rule was first applied during Season 1, and at that time it worked as intended.
However, we failed to account for the rule’s continuity across multiple seasons.
This oversight lies entirely with the administration, and we sincerely apologize.
Rule 4 | Fairness in Mission Completion (Before Revision)
NM and SPM/CM are treated as separate categories within the same DD.
If you complete one, you may not attempt the other within the same season.
-If you clear an SPM even once, you may not attempt the NM in that DD for that season.
-If you clear an NM, you may not attempt the SPM in that DD for that season.
These restrictions do not apply across different DDs.
Since this issue stems from an error in our English rule translation, Finh’s clear will be recognized as valid.
However, we also acknowledge that this may seem unfair to other participants currently attempting EO Normal.
Therefore, for this season only, EO Normal clears will be limited to a maximum of two players, including Finh.
We would also like to take this opportunity to share more about the intent behind the design of “THE CHALLENGE“.
・Normal Missions
These are designed as a gateway for players who are “becoming comfortable with solo Deep Dungeon” and are intended for a lighter player base.
The purpose of Normal Missions is to lower the entry barrier and encourage a wider range of challengers.
・Special & Champion Missions
These are intended for players who find Normal Missions to be “only somewhat difficult.”
For this reason, we established the rule that once a player clears SP or CM, they permanently lose the right to participate in NM for that same DD.
This rule was not meant to apply for only a single season, but across all future seasons as well.
The goal was to prevent scenarios where a player clears NM first each season and then moves on to SP/CM, which would undermine the intended progression and difficulty balance.
The purpose of Champion Missions, as explained previously in Discord, is to help prevent consecutive victories by the same individual.
This is not to forbid back-to-back wins, but rather to ensure that such achievements carry proper weight.
Some players may have particular strengths in certain Deep Dungeons, or excel at mechanics such as enemy rotation.
In truth, the difference between a Champion and a Challenger is not always large.
There is even a chance we may slightly misjudge the difficulty of a Champion Mission.
But we deliberately aim for that fine line, expecting players to overcome the challenge regardless.
And when someone does achieve consecutive victories, we believe it stands as a true testament to their skill.
We understand that opinions may vary, but we hope this clarifies our intent.
Rule 4 | Ensuring Fairness in Clears (Revised)
If a player who has previously cleared an SPM in any DD goes on to clear an NM in a different DD, they will lose eligibility to participate in the SPM of the cleared DD for that same season.
Within the same Deep Dungeon, NM and SPM/CM are treated as separate categories.
Any player who has cleared an SPM in a given DD, even once, will permanently lose eligibility to participate in NM for that same DD in all future seasons.
